Part of the problem with understanding the End-time... and especially the Book of Revelation... is that this book does not stand alone. It needs other books of the Bible to add pieces of the "puzzle" together to make a total and complete picture.

That said... most people do not undertake such a time consuming and sometimes exhaustive study. It is much easier to lean on what other leaders have shared with them as truth. 

Some feel that they are not as wise or as studied as those who helped guide them in their younger days, and so they never search these matters out...

And yet... Jesus told the Pharisees to "search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life."
